The English actor, John Challis, who was best known for essaying Terrance Aubrey “Boycie” Boyce in the show named Only Fools and Horses has passed away. The actor was 79 at the time of his demise. To share the devastating news with the public, Challis’ family released a statement. They said that they are deeply disheartened to inform everyone about the sad news. The family further added that their dear friend everyone’s John Challis has departed peacefully in his sleep. Continuing further, the family stated that he was battling cancer for a long time.
Later, BBC longest-running and extremely sitcom Only Fools and Horses News took to their Twitter account to share their grief. They shared a picture of the departed soul along with the media statement gotten from the family of John Challis. It is reported that he died on Sunday, September 19, 2021, in his sleep. The statement further read that Challis will always be remembered for his brilliant portrayal of Boycie in the mentioned series. The family has asked the fans and everyone to respect their privacy as they are already going through a difficult phase.
They even said they will organize an occasion to celebrate the life of John in the upcoming years. Besides asking the public to respect the family’s privacy, they also said that donations can be made to animal charities Cuan Wildlife Rescue, British Hedgehog Preservation Society or Tusk. Speaking of John’s personal life, he grabbed the role of Boycie while he was in his late 30s. Soon, his portrayal started receiving good responses from the viewers and in no time, John Challis got recognition.
Later, Challis was also featured in its spin-off titled “The Green Green Grass” that ran from 2005 to 2009. Recently, the 79-years-old actor became a citizen of Serbia. Besides Boycie, Challis appeared in plenty of other series and shows including Big Breadwinner Hog, a gangster drama released in 1969, Z-Cars where he played Sergeant Cushaw.
