A lawyer, Akoto Ampaw who represented President Akufu-Addo in the 2020 election petition is reportedly dead. He passed away Yesterday, Friday, October 20, 2023, at the University of Ghana Medical Center(UGMC). Lawyer Akoto Ampaw is the most popularly known to every people. He had been reportedly battling health issues since early 2023. The bereaved family is expected to issue a press statement later, the sources added. Lawyer Akoto Ampaw is one of the people who criticized the Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill. He was notably the leader of the legal team representing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo during the 2016 election petition.

Ampaw was part of the New Patriotic Party’s legal team in the Electoral Petition of 2013. He is a graduate of the University of Ghana, LL.B., 1973, and the Ghana School of Law, B.L., 1993.
