At least one officer shot and killed in Floyd County incident, multiple injured

According to John Hunt, Floyd County Sheriff, one officer died while several were injured in the horrifying Floyd County shooting incident. The officers got a domestic violence investigation call around 2 PM. After receiving the call, four Floyd deputies reached the location and went to the house on Railroad Street to serve an EPO. Reports confirm that two officers and multiple victims from different agencies were hit immediately. The injured officers were rushed to different hospitals.

Early on Friday morning, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department announced the incident’s fatality on social media. The number of fatalities among those engaged is unknown. Deputies were attempting to execute a court-issued warrant when the incident began on Thursday night, according to Sheriff Hunt. He said that the suspect was still surrounded as of 9:30 PM. The suspect is in arrest, according to Kentucky State Police, who provided a news briefing during our 11 PM program.

When police arrived, the suspect allegedly opened fire, according to the sheriff. According to KSP, the incident began at six o’clock. There are miles-long closures all around the Allen neighborhood, which is close to the intersection of U.S. 23 and state Route 1428. The sheriff expressed his desire for a peaceful outcome earlier on Thursday night. Late Thursday, Kentucky Governor Andy tweeted. He wrote that he asks the commonwealth to join Britainy and him in holding Floyd County in prayer, especially the family and loved ones of those who have responded to a barricade situation involving a shooting.

On its Facebook page, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office expressed its condolences to KSP, all Floyd County law enforcement, the first responders, dispatchers, and the Allen neighborhood. Additionally, the Louisville office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF) tweeted. According to ATF Louisville, Ashland, and London’s Officers are responding to a shooting scene and armed barricaded person in Floyd County, Kentucky.

They further stated that Kystatepolice is the point of contact and will release more information as it becomes available. Officers from throughout the region, some even came from as far away as Ashland, responded to the scene quickly. The crew reached the scene too and investigated the whole incident. It is not the first time when such kind of incident has happened as similar incidents have occurred in the past too.
