Bhuj Movie Review Prime Video Total Income Collection Audience Response Hit Or Flop

The recently released movie of Ajay Devgan titled “Bhuj: The Pride of India” has been getting into the limelight. It is garnering the mixed review of both the critics and the viewers. To gain more viewers, the makers decided to release it two days prior to Independence Day as it consists of patriotic elements. Considering the same, it was released on Disney Plus Hotstar on 13th August 2021. However, some people are still curious if the movie is worth their time or not so let’s check the review and its box office collection so far.

As the pandemic has caused the makers to shift towards OTT platforms, the movies are no longer getting released on theatres. Though if it had been released on halls, undoubtedly, it would have been able to witness a grand opening. It is expected that the 2021 movie would have easily garnered 16-18 crores on its first day of release. Nevertheless, releasing the film on streaming platforms isn’t a bad deal either as the viewers have gone digital and prefer watching the films on their respective devices.

With mixed responses, the movie is doing well on the platform and getting good streams. Directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya, the film also features Sanjay Dutt, Rana Dagubatti, Parineeti Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha, and Ammy Virk in prominent roles. The star-studded movie succeeded in attracting the audiences through the action and thrill-filled trailer. Speaking of the storyline, the war film surfaces around the Indo Pakistani took place in 1971.

Basically, it shows the life of the Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot, Vijay Srinivas Karnik who displayed tremendous bravery through his leadership. During the war, the Bhuj airstrip had gotten destroyed but the pilot had reconstructed the airport with the help of about three hundred women belonging to a local village named Madhapar. The picture has been shot in different parts of India including Bhopal, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Kutch, Lucknow, Indore, and Dubai.

Though the principal photography had commenced in June 2019, the shooting was postponed in 2020 and it began in November. Initially, the makers had planned to release on 14th August 2020 but the pandemic affected it. Now, it has gotten on the streaming platform Disney Plus Hotstar on August 13 and is getting quite good responses from the fans. However, some viewers are also criticizing the movie stating it doesn’t do justice to the actual story and lacks connection while some are calling Bhuj: The Pride of India a disaster as well.
