Veteran actor Dilip Kumar passed away on Wednesday and left a mourning world behind. Yes, unfortunately, the actor couldn’t survive and lost the battle of life on July 7th. However, plenty of rumours of his death had been surfaced earlier even though he was alive, but this time, the legendary actor’s death is not any rumour. As per the sources, he was hospitalized for quite some time in Hinduja Hospital situated in Mumbai. Since he was facing critical health issues, he was shifted to Internal Care Unit (ICU) and was getting treated for the last 7 days.
Dr Jalil Parkar had given the confirmation of Dilip Kumar’s death who died at the age of 98. Speaking of the death reason, the actor was reportedly diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion in which an excessive amount of fluid gets build up between the layers of the pleura outside the lungs. In simpler terms, it’s “water on the lungs”. Now, what has caused the disease is not known yet. Besides, he was also facing some age-related problems. While the doctors had stated that he was suffering from advanced prostate cancer and was under treatment for almost 3-4 months.
Dilip Kumar was hospitalized on 6th June and got discharged within 5 days. Though several speculations were rife that he had died. Although those rumours proved to be fake the timeless actor died real this time. The 98-years-old actor’s health again started to deteriorate on the 30th of June and it was then his family took him to the same hospital under the name Hinduja Hospital where he was taken into ICU.
During the entire treatment, Dilip Kumar’s wife Saira Bano was seen with him while his family and friends kept praying for his health to get better soon. Dilip Kumar’s death has shocked the entire country as he has left a void in Indian Cinema. Several celebrities from Bollywood and other industries have been expressing their grief on the actor’s demise.
Subhash Ghai took to his Twitter handle and stated that an era has gone and that his name will shine in the history of Indian cinema. Kamal Hassan, Katrina Kaif, Vishal Dadlani and many other actors have paid tribute to the actor. The Chief Minister of Mumbai Uddhav Thackrey even approved a state funeral for Dilip Kumar. Currently, Dilip Kumar’s body has been taken to his Bandra residence and it has been informed through his official Twitter handle that the last rite and the burial will take place on 7th July at 5:00 PM at Juhu Qabrastan at Santacruz Mumbai.
