A Teenage boy was arrested for sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl in Dindigul under POCSO Act. The little girl went missing while playing near her house on Sunday, 2nd February 2020 and her corpse was later recovered from a farm. She had suffered multiple injury marks on her body. Police later said the body was taken to a government hospital in Dindigul where after the post-mortem it was confirmed that it was sexual abuse.
The girl happened to be a Class I student and was sexually assaulted by the suspect twice. On February 2, when the girl was playing close to her home, the suspect took her to the side and assaulted her. The girl did not convey this wrong going to her parents. The same evening, when the girl was playing with some children, the younger brother of the suspect, a 15-year-old boy, happened to pass from there, driving a tractor. He offered the ride to the kids and in this way and thus the little girl sneaked off the from the tractor and endured wounds.
On information, the owner of the farm and tractor rushed the girl to the nearby hospital, where doctors found injuries on the girl’s private parts as well. The girl was referred to the Government Dindigul Hospital, where doctors declared the child dead. Her parents and relatives protested and claimed that the girl was sexually assaulted and murdered and demanded that the accused be arrested immediately.
The police examined the case and captured the boy for explicitly attacking. While, the owner of the farm, Umashankar, has documented a case under segment 304 that 15-year-old accused was driving his tractor, causing the girl to fall and die. Police have arrested the tractor owner and the brother of the suspect under the Motor Vehicles Act and Section 304 (ii) respectively.
