According to reports, David Hammer has passed away at the age of 47. He was the elected District 23 District Attorney. Hammer recently won the District 23 election on Tuesday with more than 58.2% of the vote. It is really saddening to learn about his death news as he had just won the elections and was about to start his serving period by taking all the responsibilities. However, destiny had something else planned for him as he could not live long enough to see what he could have achieved if he was still alive.
Tributes and condolence messages have flooded the internet as people who have known him are coming forward and expressing their sadness about his sudden death. The fact that Hammer was only 47 has saddened many. Since he belonged to a political background, several politicians have taken to Twitter and other social media platforms to pay the Attorney heartfelt tributes.
His family posted it on Facebook writing it is with a heavy heart that they announce that David passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at 2:15 PM. According to the reports, Hammer died of a heart attack. Members of the community expressed shock Sunday at the news of Hammer’s death. Pottawatomie County Sheriff Mike Booth said that David Hammer was a good man whom anyone would want as a friend, public servant, or, business acquaintance.
Adding further, Booth said that he is like thousands of other people that are shocked and that they all feel bad for his family, but there are thousands of people in Lincoln and Pottawatomie County that were looking forward to what David could do in the DA’s Office. He further added that they can not afford to lose people like that, not just from their elected officials. Richard Smothermon, a member of the state Pardon and Parole Board, also expressed sadness about Hammer’s death. RIP David Hammer!
