As per the reports, Alfredo Moreno was battling stomach cancer or a cancerous tumour which eventually took his life at the age of 41. The player reportedly died on Wednesday in Aguascalientes in Mexico. Moreno had a successful career in Mexico, especially with Club San Luis and Necaxa. However, with Club Tijuana, Moreno could win only one Liga MX title in 2012. From 2001 to 2014, the Argentinian player scored almost 146 goals in Mexican Soccer. He was considered one of the greatest scorers in Mexican soccer. Born on January 12, 1980, Alfredo belonged to Santiago del Estero in Argentina. With Boca Juniors, the player started his sports’ career.

Moreno whose real name was Alfredo David Moreno debuted for Boca Juniors on September 26, 1999. Although he had a brief stint in the team, Moreno shone brightest as he managed to score five goals in the Copa Libertadores 2000 match which was against Bolivian side Blooming. Later, he went on to join Club Necaxa at 21. The football player debuted in Mexico on January 21 in 2001 where he competed against Puebla FC. However, Necaxa couldn’t qualify for the next season and due to this, the upcoming six months were nothing but a sort of drought. After leaving Necaxa, he was sent to China’s Shandong FC by Boca Juniors where he faced difficulties that included communication and culture.
Once Alfredo Moreno had stated that when the coach yelled at him, there was someone who used to translate what he said in Spanish. However, the situation was quite difficult as the coach was himself Russian so the indicators started out in Russian first and then Chinese and eventually into Spanish. Now, the player has died while leaving a mourning world. Alfredo Moreno died on Wednesday in Mexico where he had undergone surgery on November 30, 2021. After removing an obstruction from his gallbladder, the doctors found out about a malignant tumour spreading to Moreno’s intestines. Alfredo Moreno died from intestinal cancer.
