It was serialized in the semi-monthly Japanese magazine Hana to Yume, published by Hakusensha, from 1998 to 2006. The series title comes from the name of a popular game played in Japanese elementary school.
The series Fruit Basked then adapted into a 26-episode anime series in 2001, directed by Akitaro Daichi. A new anime television series adaption produced by TMS Entertainment and directed by Yoshihide in 2019. later the reboot anime series has premiered on 5 April 2019, and later soon on 9 April 2019, the complete first season along with 25 episodes have been telecasted on the Hulu alongside Funimation and on Crunchyroll-Funimation partnership. The first season of the show was a great hit of the previous year and the subscribers of all these sites are still enjoying the first season of the show. As usual, the first season is completely whopping and left the curiosity for its second season.
Fruit Basket second season assumed to release on 6 April 2020 on Hulu, but there are no official announcements have made by the streaming site yet. However, the entire fanbase of the show is eagerly waiting for Fruit Basket season 2. On the behalf of the latest reports and updates, the second season of the show will not release in the current year. But due to Hulu and Funimation partnership in 2019, it supposes that the second season of the show will stream probably in June 2020.
