As mentioned, he was detained by the authorities in connection with the fatal shooting that claimed the life of a police officer. Reportedly, Vakoff and another officer responded to unrest that spread on a street outside the residential area when the frightening incident happened took place. Almanza was recovering from injuries sustained in a shootout with Cody and another officer. According to the police, Vakov and his team were sent to check on the health of two minor children when they came into contact with the sickness. According to Police Chief Link Strate, who spoke at a press conference on Sunday, police opened fire after a suspect shot and injured a woman. Then, according to Strate, the suspect shot Vakoff.
