He was born on 12 June 1950 in Midland, Ontario, Canada and his complete name was David Charles Onley. In the television station, he works for more than 11 years before being appointed as the lieutenant governor for Ontario in 2007. His service as Lieutenant Governor of Ontario becomes him the third longest-serving viceroy of country since Confederation. He finished his education at the University of Toronto Scarborough and served as a student council president. He graduated with a degree in political science and achieved various successes in his life.
