He was a reputed Indian army officer who served his country as a Chief General from 1990 to 1993. The prestigious official was even appointed as the Governor of Punjab and Administration of Union Territory of Chandigarh confirmed on 8th November 2004. Chief General’s full name is Sunith Francis Rodrigues PVSM and VSM born on 19th September 1933. Rodrigues was appointed by the Joint Services Wing of the Indian Military academy in 1949 and was commissioned on 28th December in the year 1952 into the Regiment of Artillery.
After that, he attended the Defence Service Staff College and joined headquarter in 1972. Post-Pakistan war he was awarded the VSM for his service. He later served as GSO from 1973 to 1975.
