Ian Tayson was born on 25th September 1933 in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, and was 89 years old at the time of his death. His father’s name was George Tyson and his mother’s name was Margaret Tyson. He completed his graduated from the Vancouver School of Art in 1958, but before that he made his first singing debut at the Heidelberg Café in Vancouver in 1956. There he played with Rock and Roll Band “The Sensational Stripes”. He sang many songs in diffrent albums in his career such as Ol’ Eon, Eighteen Inches of Rain, Live at Longview, All the Good ‘Uns, and All the Good ‘Uns Vol. 2.
Apart from singing Ian was also a producer and a songwriter. He married twice in his life his first wife was Sylvia Tyson with whom he got married in 1964 at the age of 31 and the couple had a son named Clayton Dawson Tyson, who was born in 1966, But in 1975 they took an amicable divorce. After that, he got married to his second wife Twylla Dvorkin in 1986, and in 1987 their daughter Adelita Rose was born.
Ian was a talented person and in 2003 He received a Governor General’s Performing Arts Award.
