How did Jalabala Vaidya die?

The legendary theatre actor and co-founder of the iconic Akashara Theatre Jalabala Vaidya passed away on Sunday 9th April 2023 in New Delhi. She was born on 12 August 1936 in London, England. She was an Indian stage actress. She was recognized for her best performance in The Ramayan which is her husband Gopal Sharmans  Contemporary dramatic interpretation of the Sanskrit Epic. The Ramayan has been performed more than 2000 times by her to babble reviews from all over the world. She was the half mix race child. Her father’s name was  Suresh Vidya he was an Indian journalist author and  Independence activist and her mother was a concert singer name, Madge.

Vidaya Jalabala took education from St. Paul London and then at Queen Marrry school in Mumbai. She graduated with English Honours from the Miranda House at Delhi University. Vidaya started her carrier as a journalist at Link Magazine. Vidayas first successful international theatrical performance in Rome at the Teatro Goldoni where she performed Full Circle written by Gopal Sharman who was also present at the reading. She also worked on several of her husband’s highly acclaimed television films including India Alive, The Kashmir Story, The Sufi Way, Gitanjali, and Gandhi Gita a play about Mahatma Gandhi’s translation of the Bhagavad Gita into Simple Gujarati.

Jalabala and her husband, Gopal Sharman, are co-founders of the Akshara National Classical Theatre in New Delhi, India. The Akshara is a non-profit society, an arts complex designed and built by Sharman, where she has played the lead role in more than 20 plays. It is shocking news for everyone who admires her and supports her. She was an inspiration to all people who have passion and dreams to achieve goals. She was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi’s Tagore Award, the Delhi Natya Sangh Award, and the Andhra Pradesh Natya Akademi Honour.
