As per the sources, Srikanth Poojari was involved in the 1992 rioting case post-Babari mosque demolition which happened in Bengaluru. Currently, on Wednesday, the BJP leader protested against the Karnataka government as in 1992, Srikanth Poojari was arrested in Hubballi. On the other side, the Deputy CM, DK Shivakumar defended the state government’s decision as Srikanth Poojari was arrested by the Karnataka police as he was involved in the riots after the Babri Masjid demolition. The authority said this is a long pending case which is reopened again. As we know this 30-year-old case in which the 50-year-old man was involved. In 1992, the man who was arrested on Monday was 20 years old. According to the BJP leaders, the Karnataka government is “terrorizing” Hidni activists. The Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi case was started in 1885 and ended in 2019. This is the oldest legal case in which the 50-year-old Poojaay was involved.
