Live Indian Idol 12 Today’s Episode 26th June 2021: Javed Akhtar Challenges Arunita, Bottom 2 Contestants

Indian Idol Season 12 is one such reality show that is gaining attention from the viewers in every way. Whether it’s the controversies that surface on the Sony TV show now and then or the contestants’ performances and their respective dynamics, the singing show remains in the headlines. Tonight episode is also going to be very special as the popular poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar would grace the show. It would be the “Javed Akhtar Special” episode in the show where the participants would dedicate their exceptional performances to the arrived guest.

The series of mesmerizing performances will begin with Md Danish singing “Afrin Afrin”. It would not be an exaggeration to say that Danish impressed Javed Akhtar on another level. After he completed the performance, every contestant stood up along with the judges while the lyricist also gave Danish a standing ovation. The poet complimented the singer for singing so gracefully that it touched their hearts. Later, Sayli Kamble graced the stage and with her soulful voice and sang “Pyar Hua Chupke Se” from the movie “1947: A Love Story”. Just like Danish, she also succeeded in getting a standing ovation from the judges.

After that, Shanmukha Priya rocked the stage while Nihal Tauro and other contestants also received compliments from the judges and the special guest of tonight. Now, how can an episode get completed without the guest not sharing an unheard story from old times? Well, Javed Akhtar also shared an interesting story from the blockbuster movie Sholay where Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra were in main roles. The poet narrated that Sambha’s character was not included at the time of the screenplay but was added later since it wouldn’t have looked nice if Gabbar himself had said that the government has placed a 50,000 Rs reward on him.

Javed Akhtar continued that while writing dialogues, it hit him that there should be a character that only states this particular dialogue when asked so Samba’s character got included. Besides, Javed Akhtar would be seen challenging Arunita Kanjilal as he will compose a song for her and would test her if she succeeds in it or not. Judge Anu Malik will also join the Akhtar’s test and quickly compose a song. However, Arunita will not disappoint and ace her challenge given by Javed Akhtar. Currently, Sonu Kakkar, Anu Malik and Himesh Reshammiya are judging the show while Sawai Bhatt was the last elimination in Indian Idol 12.
