Phillip Konopka of Grayson, Kentucky, was Lewis County’s Extension agent for agriculture. He died in a multi-vehicle crash on the Grayson Spur of the AA Highway on Wednesday 3 May 2023. Lewis County extension agent Philip Richard who was 42 years old of Grayson died in the multi-vehicle crash along the AA Highway. Konopka’s truck was one of two vehicles that were struck after another vehicle crossed the center line and the roadway closed for several hours on Wednesday.
One person was killed and two others were injured in a crash involving multiple vehicles Wednesday. According to the police officers, Konopka’s truck was one of two vehicles struck after another vehicle crossed the centerline. The alleged crash occurred on AA highways also known as Kentucky state Route 9 in Carter County. A southbound truck crossed into the northbound lanes, resulting in an accident involving a tractor-trailer and another car. Two people in the truck that was traveling southbound and crossing the centerline were flown to a Huntington hospital. However, the investigation still going on.
