Falguni Seth, a political analyst, social critic, and feminist race theorist, confirmed the death of Charles Mills. She shared a picture of Charles along with a caption where she wrote that her mentor and one of her dear friends has passed a few minutes ago. She added that she won’t be the person she is now without the presence of nurturing and generous soul. Falguni further wrote that she will communicate and carry Charles’ insights in her writings to her students until she is alive and that she will miss him dearly. Charles Mills Death Reason
People seemed upset as they remembered Charles for his unmatched contribution to philosophy and have been praising his knowledge in the mentioned field. Taking various posts in concern, it can be reported that the professor passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. As mentioned already, the official announcement from his family and friends regarding his death is still awaited. Thus, what was the cause of his death has not been disclosed yet. Talking about Charles Mills, the 70-years-old was popularly known for his work in “The Racial Contract” which is an essay on ethnicity, race and numerous theories of politics.
Besides, he also served as a professor of philosophy at the Graduate Center, City University located in New York. He was born to Gladstone Mills, who was a Jamaican public servant and an academic alongside. Charles completed his graduation (B.sc) at West Indies’ University while obtained his PhD degree in 1985 from the Univerity of Toronto. Charles was also awarded the Gustavus Myers Outstanding Book Award for his exceptional work in the essay “The Racial Contract”. Some of his other writing include Essays in White Marxism and Black Radicalism and Philosophy. Undoubtedly, the world of Philosophy would not be the same without Charles Mills.
