Released on July 1, 2022, R Madhavan starrer Rocketry: The Nambi Effect has managed to garner huge attention across the country. The movie has slowly started to impress the audience if compared to other Hindi films released on the same date. The movie made Rs 1.73 crore on its first day of sales after being launched in several languages. After experiencing a significant increase on Saturday, Rocketry’s box office further increased on Sunday. Featuring R Madhavan in the lead role, the movie chronicles the tale of Nambi Narayanan, a space scientist who was detained on spurious espionage allegations. It battled with Aditya Roy Kapur’s “Rashtra Kavach Om,” which was released by Zee Studios, at the box office, and even without advertising, the movie held the top spot from day one. “Rashtra Kavach Om” made about Rs. 4.91 crore in its first weekend of release, compared to Rs. 8.40 crore for “Rocketry”.
Rocketry Total Collection
The difference in the collection on its opening day speaks a lot about the popularity of the drama film. According to the early box office estimates for Sunday, “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect” outperformed its Friday and Saturday box office numbers and made approximately Rs 3.70 crore on Sunday, including all language versions. The film had made Rs 2.97 crore as of Saturday’s final earnings. At the same time, initial estimates indicate that “Rashtra Kavach Om” will earn the same amount of money on Sunday as it did on Saturday, Rs 1.70 crore.
In its first weekend, the Hindi version of the movie brought in Rs. 4.70 crore. According to the preliminary numbers, the movie made Rs 0.90 crore in Hindi on the first day, Rs 1.60 crore on the second, and Rs 2.20 crore on the third. This collection is significantly larger than the Hindi versions of Kamal Haasan’s “Vikram” and Vijay’s “Beast” when compared to Tamil stars’ flicks released this year.
In its debut weekend, the Hindi versions of the movies “Beast” and “Vikram” brought in a combined total of Rs. 1.50 crore and Rs. 2.08 crore, respectively. Apart from playing the lead role, R Madhavan has also directed, produced, and written the film. Let us add that the film has been released in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, and English.
