The police did a welfare check at the residence and found the victims. According to a statement by city officials Encho. A small town with a population of 8,000 people is located 394 Kilometers South of Salt Lake City. They also said that they did not detect any threat to the public. The manager of Encho City Rob Dotson Said the community is very tense at the news of the death of eight family members. As per reports, the family was well-known in the southern Utah Town.

Dotson released a video this afternoon in which he said that ” Many of us have served with them in church, in the community, and gone to school with these individuals. The community is feeling very pain, as they lose a whole family from the community and also have many questions about the case. Dotson also mentioned, the officials are thinking about releasing more details related to this case. Further, they said that the investigation is still going on and as the investigation progresses the police will reveal more information.

The incident took place on the 4th of January 2023 when eight people were shot and killed by a gunman. According to the report, there were a total of eight people with five children included in them. Those five children were students of The Iron County School District. The suspect has absconded and the police are still finding them. Enoch, off Interstate 15 in rural Utah, just north of the city of Cedar City and about 128 kilometers west of the National Park of Bryce Canyon, had major flooding in 2021 that also caused damage to hundreds of homes.

Utah Government Spencer Cox offered condolences in a tweet on 4th January 2023 on Wednesday night.
