According to the reports and sources, 30 out of 36 members and leaders of Khaps from Haryana, western Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Delhi were allegedly arrested because they had gathered to support the ex-governor of Jammu and Kashmir. The other allegation of arrested members and leaders was denied. It is shared that they were arrested for organizing a show to support the ex-governor and this show was going to organize in Delhi. He was summoned by the CBI to answer the related to a Reliance insurance scam case but this meeting was broken up before starting by the police.

The 36 Khaps members and leaders reached a park for lunch and this park is located near to ex-governor residence. The meeting was disrupted by police and they were all arrested because they had no permission to gather there, this incident took place at 11:30 am on Saturday 22 April 2023. The leader of the Dhankar Khap, Om Parkash Dhankar was also one of the among several clan-based groups and he traveled to Delhi to support Malik. He also shared a message “When he was Governor, everyone says he was a good man and now he has shown the truth of the country he has become a criminal”.

There are many leaders and members of his supporters who shared several statements with him and many people also expressed their reaction to this news. It is coming out that 24 people were taken to  Jafarpur Kalan police station. Police shared a statement that they receive this information from the local police that a tent was set up at the MCD Public Park in Sector 12 and later the RK Puram SHO arrive at the spot and began an investigation.
