According to the reports and sources, 30 out of 36 members and leaders of Khaps from Haryana, western Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Delhi were allegedly arrested because they had gathered to support the ex-governor of Jammu and Kashmir. The other allegation of arrested members and leaders was denied. It is shared that they were arrested for organizing a show to support the ex-governor and this show was going to organize in Delhi. He was summoned by the CBI to answer the related to a Reliance insurance scam case but this meeting was broken up before starting by the police.

The meeting was disrupted by police and they were all arrested because they had no permission to gather there, this incident took place at 11:30 am on Saturday 22 April 2023. The leader of the Dhankar Khap, Om Parkash Dhankar was also one of the among several clan-based groups and he traveled to Delhi to support Malik. He also shared a message “When he was Governor, everyone says he was a good man and now he has shown the truth of the country he has become a criminal”.
