One of the popular actors Jerry Douglas who is best known to perform a significant role in one of the longest-running shows titled The Young and the Restless has passed away at the age of 88. The reports are claiming that Douglas died on Tuesday two days earlier than his birthday. His birthday was on 12 November 2021. All of his family members and friends are extremely disheartened due to this awful incident. All of his fans are also taken back by the demise of one of his favorite stars. It is being said that he died due to a brief illness.
Besides, the actor was born in Massachusetts and raised in New England. He was quite proud of his upbringing in New England. He completed his higher studies at Brandies University where he also joined the football team and gained a degree in economics. After becoming a graduate he was involved in acting and later in 1982 he joined the cast of The Young and the Restless. He essayed the role of John Abbott father of the Abbott family. Along with the head of the Abbott Family, he was also the suave chairman of Jabot Cosmetics.
The actor was associated along with CBS daytime soap operas for more than 3 decades. In between the show, the character of John Abbott had died and but his spirit continues seen appear when the family is facing hardship. His character was last seen in 2016. The complete team of the show is sending their deepest condolence to the family and paying tribute to his co-worker. The producer of the show also expresses her grief on the event of Douglas’ death wherein he praised Dougal and also appreciates his strong character. At the last, he wrote that “He will be missed.”
Apart from The Young and Restless he also appeared in many other television shows including Cold Case, The Chrismas Wish, Arrested Development, Crash, and Melrose Place. He also starred in many movies like The Godson, Head Over Spurs in Love, and Mommie Dearest. In between all this, the actor also joined the stage in 2007 as an actor and singer. At the time he released the collection of jazz music titled ‘The Best Is Yet To Come.’
